Neurological Exercise Physiology · Chirnside Park
Movement can feel very different when strength, balance, coordination, fatigue, memory or confidence have changed.
This small-group Exercise Physiology session is designed for people who want professional support while working on physical and cognitive movement goals in a welcoming environment.
You do not need to arrive already confident or able to do what the person beside you can do.

When
A one-hour supervised small-group Exercise Physiology session.

Funding may also be available for eligible participants through Medicare, NDIS or aged care arrangements.

Participation remains subject to clinical suitability.
Who this group is for
I have a particular interest in supporting people living with neurological conditions where movement, balance, strength, coordination, fatigue, memory or confidence may have changed.
Some people may be rebuilding after a stroke. Others may be managing changes related to Parkinson's disease or Multiple Sclerosis.
The session is not about everybody completing exactly the same exercises.
Activities can be modified around your current ability, goals and clinical needs.

What might we work on?
Depending on your goals, we may work on strength, balance, coordination, fatigue, memory, reaction time and confidence within the same session.
Build strength gradually around your current ability, fatigue levels and everyday goals.
Work on steadiness, confidence and controlled movement using support where needed.
Practise movement timing, reaching, stepping and activities that challenge how different parts of the body work together.
Combine movement with memory, sequencing, attention, reaction and simple problem-solving tasks.
Work at a level that takes fatigue seriously rather than expecting you to push through everything.
Build confidence with the kinds of movements that matter in everyday life and community participation.
Movement + memory
Some activities combine movement with remembering, sequencing, attention, reaction and communication.
Practise a short movement sequence and gradually add another step when appropriate.
React to colours, numbers, words or simple instructions while walking, reaching or balancing.
Combine a physical activity with another simple thinking task so movement is practised in a more everyday way.
My approach
We can use support, reduce the challenge, take a break, slow something down or change the activity completely.
You are also welcome to talk, laugh and connect while you move.
Exercise can still be purposeful without feeling clinical or intimidating.
Please check the access before booking
Because this group may include people with changes in mobility, balance or fatigue, I want the access information to be very clear.
Front entrance
The front entrance has three steps.
The handrail is on your left-hand side as you walk up the concrete entry and on your right-hand side as you walk back down.
Rear entrance
The rear entrance is approached via a gently sloping concrete driveway from the road and currently has one step into the studio.
If the rear entrance would suit you better, please tell me before you arrive and I can meet you there.
We are currently saving towards installing a ramp at the rear entrance.
Medicare · NDIS · Aged Care
Medicare
Some eligible people with chronic health conditions may be able to access individual Exercise Physiology through a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan.
Medicare eligibility depends on the relevant referral and claiming requirements.
NDIS
Exercise Physiology may be funded through the NDIS where it is an appropriate disability-related therapy support linked to functional goals.
This may include goals related to mobility, strength, balance, coordination, physical capacity, independence or participation.
Aged Care
Older adults may also be able to access Exercise Physiology through their aged care supports where it is appropriate to their assessed needs and approved arrangements.
Funding is individual and should not be assumed simply because you have a particular diagnosis or funding plan.
